Hi, I am Doug Hurst, the one on the right. I'm an accountant by trade, not an engineer or mechanic. I have created little of a tangible nature in my life, until now. I am determined to design, test and eventually drive an autaero vehicle on the highways of America.
The first prototype will begin with a front wheel drive car or more likely a 3-wheel autocycle with a rebuild of the rear portion of the vehicle.
Much of my flight training was in a taildragger airplane. Upon take off, when you reach about half of your take off speed the tail wheel lifts up as you continue to roll down the runway on only the main gear. It is such a smooth ride that sometimes you do not realize when you have lifted completely off the ground.
